<p class="Paragraph"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="4" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>You can use the same method to insert ranges defined by name from a <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> Calc or Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="5" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>The following insert methods are available:</p>

<p class="Paragraph"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="14" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>Open two documents: the <help:productname xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help">%PRODUCTNAME</help:productname> Calc spreadsheet in which the external data is to be inserted (target document) and the document from which the external data derives (source document).</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="16" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>In the target document open the Navigator.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="18" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>In the lower combo box of the Navigator select the source document. The Navigator now shows the range names and database ranges or the tables contained in the source document.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="20" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>In the Navigator select the <span class="T1">Insert as link</span> drag mode.</p>
<p class="Paragraph"><help:paragraphinfo state="U" number="22" xmlns:help="http://openoffice.org/2000/help"/>Drag the desired external data from the navigator into the target document.</p>
